Feeding the Community Like Family

Treating customers like neighbors. A Bellville family business built on Texas hospitality.

Our Story

A Partner in Every Rancher’s Success

Mark and Amey Ward’s venture into establishing Ranchers Choice Processing, a USDA-inspected plant in Bellville, Texas, was driven by a combination of necessity and opportunity. In 2022, they realized that despite Texas being one of the largest beef-producing states in the U.S., there was a significant gap in quality, accessible, and timely meat processing services in the area.

A distinguishing feature of Ranchers Choice Processing is the emphasis on developing strong, personal relationships with local livestock producers. Mark and Amey see themselves not just as service providers but as partners in the ranchers’ success. By focusing on Texas hospitality, the Wards aim to create a welcoming, transparent, and collaborative environment where ranchers feel valued and respected.

This approach goes beyond just business transactions; it’s about building long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships — where each rancher’s specific needs and preferences are taken into consideration, ensuring they can maximize the quality and value of their livestock.

Core Values

Humane Animal Handling

Humane animal handling is a fundamental part of the USDA inspection process and a key component of our HACCP program. When animals experience less stress, the resulting meat is more tender and of higher quality — and it reflects the ethical standards we hold.

Youth FFA & 4-H

Investing in the Next Generation

Driven by a commitment to helping young people learn animal care, responsibility, and the role livestock play in food production, Ranchers Choice Processing is proud to support local FFA & 4-H youth programs.
